Preparing for Your Visit

When preparing for your visit to the Blue Swallow, there are a few things to keep in mind:

Check-in time is between 3:00pm and 9:00pm, Mountain time.  We encourage you to plan to arrive early enough to be able to relax, meet your neighbors, play a game, enjoy a meal at one of Tucumcari’s good restaurants, view and photograph the Blue Swallow’s neon (and other neon signs in town such as at the TeePee Curios shop and Del’s Restaurant), visit our museums, check out the nearly 30 murals, do some shopping, or visit other historic sites in the area. If you are unexpectedly delayed please call us to arrange for late arrival with morning check-in.

–Check-out time is 10:00am.

–The Muellers need their beauty sleep!  Please try not to call after 9:00pm, or before 6:30am, Mountain Time.  Your consideration is greatly appreciated!

–All rooms are strictly non-smoking.  It’s one way we are able to keep the rooms fresh and clean.  Charges of up to $150 may be assessed for smoking in the rooms, so please take advantage of the sitting areas and ashtrays provided outside your room if you need to smoke.

–Sorry, we do not allow pets. Any pet or evidence of a pet found in a room will result in a $150 charge. Additional charges for cleaning or repairs will apply if damage results from a pet’s (or any guest’s) visit.

–We have a wide variety of children’s books, and many games such as cards, checkers, Apples to Apples, Sequence, Rummikub, Farkle, Racko, Pass the Pigs, among others.  For outdoor fun, ask to play our “Corn Hole” game, a favorite in the south. Please ask us if you’d like to borrow any of our games.

–Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and breakfast snacks are available in our lobby from 6:30-9:00 am.  For travelers from the UK, we have several English teas available, and we hope one of them is your favorite! We will be happy to put a kettle on for you!

If there are any questions you have, please do not hesitate to ask us!  We will share any and all information we can regarding Tucumcari, Route 66, good places to eat, local shopping, the weather, the price of tea in China, our favorite color, etc. We try to stay away from discussions about religion and politics!
